2008 GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

 

 Requirements for the NBMBAA Pittsburgh Chapter $3,000 Graduate Scholarship Award

 

1.       Applicants must be minority students in their first or second year, enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited graduate business or management program during the fall of 2008, or the winter/spring of 2008 school term and working toward a graduate degree. Applicants must be attending schools in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas so that they can receive the full benefit of an active membership in the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Black MBA Association, Inc.   

2.       Applicants must submit a two or  three page, double-spaced, type-written essay in response to the following topic:

What have you seen or experienced as barriers preventing minority students from pursuing a graduate degree?  What do you think would encourage more minority undergraduates to pursue their graduate degree? 

3.       In addition to their essay, applicants must submit an official undergraduate and graduate college transcript, a 50-75 word biography, and a 3”x 5” color photo with their application since awardees will be listed in the annual Recognition and Scholarship Gala program booklet.  Awardees are required to attend the annual Recognition and Scholarship Gala on October 25, 2008. 

 

4.       APPLICATION DEADLINE:  Must be postmarked by August 1, 2008 and submitted to:

5.    AWARDS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AUGUST 29, 2008.
