President's
Message

I
am honored to serve as President of the National Black MBA Association, Pittsburgh
Chapter. I have a great leadership team that is ready to
build on the successes from 2009. We will use the
Chapter to create tremendous opportunities for our members, partners, business
professionals, and the Greater Pittsburgh Region.
We
had one of the best years in Chapter history in 2009.
We celebrated our 25th year anniversary, provided $180,000 in
scholarships for higher education, increased from 74 members
to 133, enhanced our programming, reestablished our Leaders of
Tomorrow program for high school students, and expanded our
partnerships/sponsorships.
In
2010, we will continue to
build on our success as we strive to fulfill our vision to “become
the premiere black professional organization in the Greater
Pittsburgh Region by 2012."
We
will continue to provide solutions to the issues that we
confront in our communities and business.
The Chapter will continue to gain strength through increasing membership,
partnerships, relevant programs and activities
that result in intellectual and economic wealth for blacks.
We
will continue to collaborate with our partners and other businesses to
provide access to talent, business opportunities, professional
development, and other initiatives. We will continue to provide
relevant programming that can be leveraged
as retention and business tools.
Members will benefit by having more opportunities and access to
quality programming for
professional development.
We
will continue to invest in our community and specifically, our youth. This year, we will enhance programming for our Leaders of
Tomorrow (LOT) program. This
program provides leadership, development, career and
educational exposure for students in grades 9-12.
In addition, we will continue to increase access to funding
for higher
education through our scholarship programs.
I
ask each member and partner for continued support.
It will take teamwork and collaboration to make our
chapter great and fulfill our mission.
As a result, we will enhance the black community, the
Greater Pittsburgh Region, and add value to all of our
constituents.
I
am excited about the opportunities and is looking forward to
outcomes, which result in intellectual and economic wealth for blacks.
Sincerely,
Kevin
W. Cameron President National Black MBA Association,
Pittsburgh Chapter
